These pens help me to do small details in water colors that I couldn't do before with brushes.Bought because of recommendation by artist Cat Hand.Love these pens! Will be buying more colorsI love the Black PITT artist pens in various tip sizes. I got these because I wanted to level up & add color to my work. They are as quality as the black pack. I love these as well. My only complaint (and it's probably my fault for not reading the description completely...because I already know how much I love these pens) is that they are all brush tips. I like a brush pen for some things, but these make me nervous when coloring in small spaces. But the brush seems to be pretty firm, at least while they are new so I take my time and don't really have a problem 'coloring inside the lines'. I'd like to have these same color pens in a medium tip, but I'm not sure they exist. These are very nice. I bought them so Bible journal with but they are a bit heavy, as they bleed through a teeny bit. Not much but enough that I don’t use them for this purpose often. They are smooth and create good, bold colors.Colors: Pink Carmine, Dark Chrome Yellow, Manganese Violet, Phthalo Blue, Permanent Green Olive, Cadmium YellowPros:Dries fastStandard, classic colorsLong lastingCons:The package says waterproof but the ink runs when in contact with water. Only a base line (colorless) will remain permanently if artwork gets wet.Two yellow? Come on. The cadmium yellow is so light it's hard to see. These colors have been used as a complementary set and paired with basic colors from other brands. The result of using these pens has always been appealing. I'm proud of this set because they weren't expensive, and I wasn't expecting much. Glad to be proven wrong. The brush-like tips are good for applying the pen in a paint motion. Made in Germany.I use these to draw on non-porous surfaces (painted with clear lacquer, draw, paint some more). I had a hard time finding any marker that would not bead up excessively, had good colors, and did not smear before I could spray more lacquer over them to protect. These work well. The pack is cheaper than buying just three colors at the art store... but some of these colors are not the ones I would have chosen. I would have preferred a selection of all primary colors. But, I will buy this again.Bought in the Black Friday sale and they are lovely pens. However, I probably won't buy any more in other colours until I've tried some Tombow pens for comparison, as these Pitt pens appear to have a smaller 'brush'. They don't produce the effects of calligraphy as well, if that makes sense, as the brush is smaller/narrower. I tried overwriting a yellow pen onto blue writing and it did produce green, but not as blendable as I've seen with Tombows. These Pitt pens don't bleed through to the other side of the paper so they're ok to use in colouring books, unless you're heavy handed with them.I like these pens, just not convinced it's worth buying more of them until I've tried other markers such as Tombow or some of the budget brands.EDIT: Bought a small pack of Tombow dual brush markers and it was quickly obvious to me that they performed less well than expected BECAUSE I have no skill in calligraphy. The Tombows are longer pens, larger brushes, but on paper they didn't seem worth the hefty price tag compared to Pitt brush pens. So, unless you have any ounce of clue regarding calligraphy (which I don't) I would probably recommend the Pitt pens instead. If you're looking for a calligraphy brush pen, there are many tutorials on youtube using Tombows and I would go for them if you can afford them.I take these pens with me to life drawing and they are a lot of fun to work with rather than plain old charcoal or pencil. The colours are vibrant and they do not soak through the paper, which is lovely. You can also layer the colours - for example, red upon red to make it darker where necessary. However, the tips do not last very long before they begin to feather which is rather frustrating. Faber Castell really need to do something about their 'Bold' pens, I have seen a lot of people comment on the same issue.Fab colours shame I thought they were the 'big'brush markers, but still an excellent productNice colours, nibs don't say pointed for long and soften quicklythese pens have good pigment and are great for my card making.an excellent product.the points are very good for finer work.
